This one-of-a-kind sea glass necklace was found by the maker on Seaham Hall Beach, on the North East coast of England — a shoreline shaped by both the North Sea and Seaham’s historic glassmaking past.
During the late Victorian period and early 1900s, Seaham was home to major glassworks. Over time, fragments of glass entered the sea, where waves, sand, and stone gradually transformed them. After over 100 years of natural tumbling in the North Sea, only a small percentage of these pieces return to shore in a condition suitable for jewellery.
This particular piece of authentic Seaham sea glass was personally discovered on the beach, then selected specifically to be made into jewellery. Its colour, thickness, and smooth, sea-frosted surface mark it out as true jewellery-grade sea glass — a rarity even along this famous coastline. No two pieces are ever the same, and this exact form will never be repeated.
The glass is paired with a solid stainless steel paperclip chain (approximately 16 inches) and finished with a classic toggle clasp. The clean, contemporary chain contrasts beautifully with the organic texture of the sea glass, creating a necklace that feels both modern and timeless.
